SNOW DAY!!!

Yes - it snowed last night in Texas! We don't get to see it very often so we were all VERY excited...especially Andrew! It started snowing late last night, and the promise of going out first thing in the morning to play made everything okay. As you can see Andrew had a great time in his "first snow" (at least the first one we were able to document before it melted - Ha!). He didn't want to walk in the snow at first, but once Mommy did it then he jumped in and ran around like a wild man! We are now getting ready to eat some cinnamon rolls to warm up our tummies!

Milestone

Andrew hit a major milestone yesterday...he slept in his new big boy bed for his nap AND through the night. Don't think it hasn't come with any challenges, however they have been quite minor and he is doing great.

I found myself with tears in my eyes as I was falling (trying to fall) asleep last night as I realized Andrew was no longer in the room next door. The security of knowing he was just in the next room was gone and I have to realize that he is growing up...way too fast I might add!

I have also started taking down some items in the "old" nursery to prepare for our new little guy. I am hoping to start painting on Sunday...but we'll see if that's a little too aggressive of a timeframe. I'll keep you all posted.

A Few Holiday Pics...

Catch Up Time...

Okay - so I can't believe the last time I posted was on Halloween! All I can say is since then, we have had 3 birthdays, Thanksgiving, Christmas here, Christmas on the road...and getting everything ready for Andrew & the Baby.

Where to begin - All of the holidays were fantastic. Some were celebrated by the 3 of us...and others in the company of our family. It was quite a wonderful time! I will post pictures...

We are now getting Andrew's Big Boy Room ready to go. I bought the bed rail today and am hoping to start naps there tomorrow. Andrew is quite the charmer and comedian these days. He is a tremendous joy to be around, and we continue to keep each other on our toes.

My pregnancy is going well. I am going to be 31 weeks on Friday and it seems like the time is starting to fly by with all of the projects I have planned for myself in preparation for the new kiddo. I will admit that I am ready to meet him and can't wait to hold the little guy in my arms.

Well - that's a very brief summary of what's been going on...but I will do better in the new year. I am also working to get all of our pictures caught up on Flickr and I'm now starting our December pictures...if you like what you see here and want more than log-on to flickr....

BOY!!!

We are very excited to be expecting another little boy! Andrew has been such a joy - I can't imagine what it will be like to have 2!!!

Quick Update...

Last week flew by in a whirlwind!

"Aunt Beck" flew in from Milwaukee for a visit. It was wonderful to see her, but as always time flies by way too fast. We went down to visit Mom/Mimi and had fun visiting, going to the zoo, and watching Andrew be Andrew.

There are many times when having a nurse for a sister is a great thing. This week proved to be one of those times. Andrew was on antibiotics for his rash...and on Tuesday he developed a pretty severe allergic reaction to it. As the reaction got worse, Beck (& Mom) were there to talk me off of the "freak-out ledge". We called his Dr. and got everything squared away. Had a follow-up appt. on Thursday and it was gone by Sunday...WHEW!

We had a great time at the Halloween party. Costumes were a hit. I will post a picture later...so y'all can see.

I also got Andrew's pictures taken today. It made me realize that he is growing up way too fast! Where does the time go?! It's my goal to soak up and memorize every second I can!

Well, tomorrow is the big day! We get to find out if Baby Aubuchon is a boy/girl. We can't wait...we'll keep y'all posted.

One Heck of a Week!

So, the week is finally over - YEAH!

It has been quite a week for us. A week ago today, I was giving Andrew a bath and noticed a very severe rash under his arm. We decided to watch it over the weekend, and not be those over-reactive parents that everyone rolls their eyes at. I also started to feel bad last Friday - which did not make things any easier on the family.

We survived the weekend...barely. Monday rolls around I have had a temperature for 2 days and still feel horrible, and Andrew just started running one. One half of my brain said - "uh oh, he's getting what I have" the other half said "OH NO! What if it has something to do with the lifeform that has taken over Andrew's arm pit?!". That's when I called the Dr and got us an appointment for a couple of hours later.

Long story short...the Doc was shocked at Andrew's rash and immediately got him on some aggresive meds (in case it was staph) and I had strep throat for the first time in my life. Good grief. We also had to make an appt. for 3 days later to make sure Andrew was reacting positively to the meds.

Cory has had to put in a long (but productive) week at work. We missed him this week, but are quite proud of him to say the least. We are ready for the weekend to get here, so we can get some much needed Daddy time.

It's now Friday, I am feeling like a new woman. I am now 18 weeks along and doing well. Andrew is doing a LOT better. The rash isn't completely gone, however the improvement is indescribeable. I got the call today that it wasn't staph (WHEW!) and that it was a bacterial infection of some sort. (I'm also hoping that Cory stays healthy throughout this whole ordeal too). So now, we're ready for the weekend!

We don't have any big plans for the weekend. We will be working on Halloween costumes...you will have to wait and see what we are working on...hopefully we will pull it off. Cory's going to get a round of golf in (weather permitting) and I will be preparing for some company.

Becky, (my sister) is flying in on Monday! We will be driving down to my Mom's to spend some much needed daughter, mother, (& Grandson) time next week. She also sent me the amazing photo that I posted today. She has a way of capturing those moments...and this is another one I will add to my collection of faves and cherish forever. There is no question why she has chosen to be a professional photographer, right?!
