Boys Will Be Boys!

Okay - Being a Mother of 2 boys...I'm officially having to mentally prepare myself for what's coming...

A Little Background to the Story:

This past weekend Andrew was outside helping Daddy in the yard all morning. In the back of my mind I was wondering what was going on, because Andrew had taken no potty breaks. (I'm usually in charge of such breaks since I'm inside & Cory doesn't have to stop working). It was pretty muddy outside so I find out (through Andrew) that he got to "pee on a tree". Andrew thought that this was lots of fun and thought that Dad was the coolest because of this new found adventure. (FYI - Daddy DID tell Andrew that he had to ask Mommy or Daddy if it was okay to go potty outside before he goes, and that there are special places & rules that you have to follow etc...)

Which Brings Us to this Morning:

After having a great time playing games, reading books, & playing some ball with Diva...Diva decides she HAS to go outside and do her "thang". It's been rainy here, so I have to take Miss Diva out on a leash. Sometimes Andrew likes to go outside too...but if he doesn't have any shoes on we make him stand on the mat so he won't get dirty & bring lots of dirt into the house. This morning, Diva was extremely picky in finding just the right spot, so I had to go around the corner of our yard with her because the leash wouldn't go as far as she deemed necessary. After the Princess finished up her business, I turn the corner to go back up on the porch and find Andrew with his pants down around his ankles peeing off the porch into the grass. Trying to remain in "Mommy Mode" and not break out in laughter...here's the conversation that followed:

Mommy: "What are you doing?!"

Andrew: "Don't worry Mommy, I'm just going potty. Daddy let me do it on the tree when we were working outside together."

Mommy: "Yes, I know he did...but remember you have to ask Mommy or Daddy before you go."

Andrew: "Oh yeah...Sorry Mommy. It's okay...it's just pee pee."

Moral to the Story:
Make sure you know everything that's being taught to your kids when you aren't around.

So, there you have it. The moments I will never forget, will treasure, and enjoy laughing about when I get to tell such embarassing stories to his girlfriend/wife one day.

Until next time...
