Happy Halloween!

As you will see we had such a great time tonight with our Halloween festivities! We had a few friends over for some fun and then took the kiddos out Trick-or-Treating. This year the boys went as Backyardigans...Andrew went as Tyrone and Landon as Pablo. Andrew had a ball Trick-or-Treating, and was fearless this year. Landon on the other hand, was slow to warm up to the idea...but then had some fun with it too...as long as Mom was close by. Here are a few peeks...and if you want to see more go here.

Having Too Much Fun!

We have been having so much fun around here lately and I don't know how to keep up with everything! I have lots more pictures to update now...and am still trying to catch up with the old ones! Oh well, I love pictures...everything about them...so I pay the price when it comes to keeping up with my updating.

Here is a quick run down of what we've been up to lately...

Andrew is having a blast at school and comes home with the best stories everyday. He is learning a lot, loves his teachers, and is making friends with all of the other kids in his class. There is a definite gender division amongst the class and I got to witness this myself at our first monthly class social. We had a lot of fun, and it was a pleasure for me to meet some of the other Moms and some of Andrew's new friends in class.

Landon is changing daily. I think he adds at least 2 or 3 words a day to his vocabulary. He is an amazing little man. Overall, he is quite a happy little guy...and his smile lights up the room! Watch out though...his temper packs a punch...and you don't want to be in the way of it. You never know what might light his fuse...so he keeps you on your toes.

Cory & I had a night out last week, and went to see U2 in concert. It was held at the new Cowboy's Stadium and they really put on a great show. I didn't really know what to expect, but I came away a bigger fan which is always a good sign. The Cowboy's Stadium blew me away...although the navigation was a bit frustrating at times.

Cory had a major boys day out at the Texas vs. Oklahoma game on Saturday. It's a yearly tradition now for them to head down to the State Fair and make a day of it. I do have to say that Cory DOES proudly wear his KU colors to the game...he has to represent if he's going to go to a TX/OU game. From what I hear, they had a blast...and they can't wait until next year.

We went to the Pumpkin Patch yesterday. We had lots of fun petting and feeding goats, cows, and sheep. We got to ride a big hay ride and a little kiddie ride. Of course, we picked out some pumpkins to bring home too. It was a great afternoon out with the family...not to mention that we were eager to spend some time outside in the sun since it's been in hiding for 2 weeks down here!

Today, I took the boys to the "Big Park". Andrew's been begging for weeks to go...but due to the weather I always had to say no. We all had so much fun. Landon is fearless and will climb anywhere and try anything...which scared me one to many times today. It is fun to see him try to keep up with Andrew and the bigger kids...and I know soon he will be. Andrew couldn't be more social. He can make a friend at the drop of a hat, and has no problem going up and introducing himself (and the rest of the family) and getting to know the other kiddos. It's nice to watch the boys develop and become such well rounded individuals.

Well, it's getting late and if I hope to accomplish some of that updating I keep talking about I better call it a night. Keep checking back to Flickr...that's where the pictures are posted to.

Until next time...

Happy Anniversary!

Dear Cory -

Today is our 7th Anniversary and I couldn't be happier sharing my life with you. You are my partner in crime, my shoulder to cry on, and my rock. We have created so many wonderful memories together over the years...and whether we are glancing at each other from across the room to share an inside joke, finishing each others sentences, or sharing a quiet walk on the beach when no other words are necessary, I continue to realize that you are the love of my life. I don't know where I would be without you and I couldn't imagine having anyone else by my side. Seven years ago today was OUR special day...a day I will treasure forever...but seven years later I still want a piece of that cake! ;)

You are my everything and I know it will always be "Me & You"!
Love You Forever!

Flickr

Okay Folks...in my attempt to stay true to my word...I have been working on posting some new pictures on Flickr.

Here's how it's going to work...I am currently going to finish up December as I had the other months throughout 2008. I want to try and stay as consistent as possible and I figure that's a way to finish up the whole year and start fresh for '09. For my 2009 pictures I will post my favorites from each month. This will allow me to speed up the process and get caught up much faster. I will post detailed pictures of the important events that have occurred in our family - ex. the Boys' Baptisms, Landon's 1st Birthday, etc... This will be the format I will continue with throughout '09. Who knows what will be in store for 2010!

Thanks for being patient with me!

Until Next Time...

That's it...I must organize my thoughts from the past 2 months...I have some catching up to do!

While Daddy's Away...

MOMMY & THE BOYS WILL PLAY!!!

Cory left yesterday to go back to St. Louis to play in a golf tournament with his family & friends. I don't want to be a bump on the log for the weekend...or make is seem like our usual weekdays, so I felt super motivated to make the most of the next few days and fill them with activities...but I think I overdid it today!

Here's what went down...

6:30ish - Andrew woke up...I woke up & decided there's no time like the present to get in the shower...esp. before Landon woke up!
7:15ish - Andrew was really missing Daddy - so we got him on the phone for a quick good morning chat on the way to their 1st golf course of the day. Feed the oldest beast right after we get off the phone.
8:30ish - Landon's awake...time to feed the littlest beast and me!
(Eat, Play Around the House, Get Boys Dressed Until 10:15)
10:15a - Load up...it's off to the Library for Story Time & to get some more books & movies
11:30a - Leave library - had a super fun time b/c we got to meet Mother Goose and got some really fun books & movies! We also met a Police Officer & he gave the boys Junior Police Officer sticker badges which Andrew thought were the coolest! So Proud to meet & "be a Police Officer"!
11:30a - Head to Chick-fil-A for lunch...where I will have to re-think eating in, by myself, again.
(I will digress for just a moment...Andrew & Landon both participated in the summer reading program at the Frisco Library. To participate in the program, we had to read them at least 10 books, write them down, turn in our slip and get a prize. We submitted ours yesterday...and WOW Frisco tends to do everything right...but the boys got spoiled! They each got a special certificate and an envelope full of coupons for all sorts of good stuff. One of these is a coupon for a free kids meal to Chick-fil-A - Woo Hoo! I read the fine print and noticed that only one special Chick-fil-A is honoring the coupon...so off we go to this very special, very new Chick-fil-A!)
Holy Cow...this place was PACKED! Who knew the day I decide to take the boys to eat inside (by myself) do I pick the day the entire community decides to go there! Apparently it's a new store and they were having a promotion where if you dress up like the Chick-fil-A cow you get some free food or something. So here we are, surrounded by a crowd all dressed like cows, trying to find a seat, trying to manage 2 small ones, our food, our drinks, all the necessities like straws, napkins, ketchup, etc...it was crazy...I needed like 3 additional hands! Once we crammed in a table for 2 and got settled, we had a nice lunch together. We got to see 2 of the Chick-fil-A cows as they walked around and Andrew thought that was awesome...he even gave one a High 5 so we're making strides in that area too! I even braved the play area to let Andrew have some fun in there for awhile...until Landon started to melt down & we were off to the mall. Yes, I said it...off to the M.A.L.L.!
1:45ish - we arrived at the mall. What was I thinking you ask? I obviously wasn't! I had some errands to run there that I had to get done by tomorrow a.m., we had a coupon for a free book at Barnes & Noble (Thanks summer reading program!), & just wanted to go look around a bit. The boys were good at the beginning...until Landon got frustrated and started pulling Andrew's hair from the back position in the double stroller. At one point, both boys were in tears & I was at a loss for words. I got everything done I needed to, & the boys even got something special as well...so it wasn't all bad!
3:00ish - Finally arrived at the car...& loaded everyone/everything up in it...Thanking God that we all survived!
3:10 - Backout...head to the street...to look in my rearview mirror to find both of my boys sleeping like angels. There's just nothing better than watching your children sleep...whether they are babies or infants or toddlers...
3:25 - YEAH - we're home! Unload boys - put them directly to bed...unload car...and am on verge of collapse...but am determined to write about our day...(silly me!)

Here are some pics of my sleeping angels:

I think we'll be laying low for the rest of the day...and tomorrow we get to go to a birthday party! Stay tuned...

Until Next Time...

What a Performer!

If you know me...you know I'm a huge KC fan...I guess it's rubbing off and I couldn't be prouder! :)

Bootcamp #1

I have delayed posting about my Boot camp experience, because I have been waiting for my assessment results. I got them today...so here ya go!

Overall, my boot camp experience was FABULOUS! After the 1st week of dragging my booty out of bed at 4:30am, and getting accustomed to the way things went during our workouts I was off. It felt wonderful to get out there and bust my butt every morning. Don't get me wrong I was extremely sore for the 1st week, a little less sore the 2nd week...and then the 3rd & 4th week my recovery time drastically improved so I could really work as hard as I wanted during class. I thrived in this workout environment, because I was pushed farther than I could have ever imagined I could go. I made myself give the best performance I could each day...if someone passed me I kicked it up a notch to not let it happen again. If you know me, you know I can be quite competitive, and that lit another fire that I feel hasn't been burning for a long time. It felt great!

A surprise that I wasn't expecting was how much I really enjoyed this time to myself! It was like therapy to have some alone time each day. Yes, even if it takes me getting up at 4:30am everyday for 4 weeks to grab some time for myself it was worth it!

(drum roll)

MY RESULTS:
Gained .2 lbs
Body Fat Stayed the Same
BMR Increased by 17 points
Lean Muscle Mass Increased by 1.4 lbs

MEASUREMENTS:
Biceps Decreased by 1/2 inch
Chest Stayed the Same
Torso Decreased by 1 1/2 inches
Waist Decreased by 1 1/2 inches
Hips Decreased by 1 inch
Thighs Increased 1 1/2 inches
Lower Thighs Stayed the Same
Calf Increased by 1/4 inch

I am thrilled with my results overall. In four weeks time I feel like I made some great progress with my overall fitness goals. I was a little shocked that my thighs got so much bigger...but hey ya can't win 'em all!

In fact, I have decided to complete another session of Boot camp! I can't wait to see what I can do in another 4 weeks time. I love the challenge, I love the exercise, and I love the self confidence it gives me to know that I'm doing this for me. Boot camp #2 starts one week from today!

This class has empowered me and the way I think about myself. It's made me regain control of my body, my appearance, and my well being. One of my personal mottos is "Just because I'm a Mom doesn't mean I have to look like one!" I don't like the stigma that many women have in their minds that they have to give up who they are, or what they look like because they have kids. This is not me at all. I will continue to look as good as I can for as long as I can!

My thanks goes out to Brenna for doing the research, and finding this Boot camp program for us all to take on together. I remember this idea came to light as we were sitting at Mattito's having too many margaritas...just waiting for the monsoon to stop so we could go see Kenny!

Until next time...

Oh How We Love Our Daddy!

My intention was to write a wonderful dedication to Cory on Father's Day. This is to let the Cory & the world know how wonderful we think he is and how much we (me, Andrew, Landon, & Diva) adore him! As you can see, I'm tardy...so even if it's a little late...our wonderful Daddy still deserves a meaningful tribute...so here it is...

Dear Cory,

Our family is by far the luckiest in the universe because we have you as a part of it. You make us feel so loved and cared for. We all have so much fun with you...that our smiles and laughter are contagious when you're around. I adore watching you with our sons, and I try and capture the memories so I can remember them forever. Some of my favorites are:

the way you work with Andrew to teach him how to play various sports.

the way you throw the boys in all of the pillows on our bed & they giggle until their bellys ache.

the way you talk to Landon and make sure he feels just as special as if he were our only child.

the way you quote movies and how Andrew now tries to mimic the way you say them back to you.

the way Landon's personality is becoming even bigger than he is - and how you embrace yet another strong willed, spunky individual into our family.

I know you have your hands full keeping up with all of us - but we love & adore you more than you can imagine.

Thank you for supporting me unconditionally. I can't imagine walking through this special path with anyone but you. We are a team...and I can't wait to see what our future holds!

ALL my Love - H

Father's Day Summary:

We always try to do something fun as a family when it comes to special holidays like Father's Day...and today was no exception.

We started off the day early in the morning...and Andrew & I made a run to Krispy Kreme for some doughnuts to start off our day just right. Once the presents were opened Cory headed out to the driving range for a while. While he was there...I worked behind the scenes to get everything ready for the remainder of our day. Once Cory returned, we headed out to lunch at one of his favorites...Rudy's. (Rudy's is a wonderful BBQ place and their food is delicious.) After lunch, we headed over to the Frisco Athletic Center and spent the day at the pool. The FAC opened last year and has a wonderful outdoor pool area that consists of a great kid's shallow water park area, a lazy river, 2 huge water slides, & another pool for laps/adults. We hadn't had a chance to go yet this year and I thought this was the perfect opportunity! We had so much fun together, and I will remember it always. It was a great day & I hope Cory felt the same way.

Here are some pics...
