I'm sorry I haven't posted in forever and a day. Don't get your hopes up because it's not coming anytime soon either. :) I just wanted to let you know that I do remember I have a blog, and that I know I should be updating it...but it's Christmas time, and I of course have taken on way too many projects! Oh well, they are all worth it...once I get them done (ha!)!

A Busy Time for Our Family

Well - as you can see I haven't been able to post anything in a while. That's because our lives have been quite busy! We have been celebrating 3 of our birthdays! Cory's was the 3rd, Andrew's Party was the 8th, Andrew's 3rd Birthday was the 10th, and my birthday was the 12th! Whew! Not to mention Cory and I went to the Rock Band Live concert to see one of our favorite bands, Dashboard Confessional, perform the evening of my birthday, and then Cory packed up and made a weekend trip to Lawrence for the KU vs. Texas game. I wish the outcome was different, but hey you can't win them all!

A Quick Hug from Daddy

I know I promised to post an update earlier than this...but as life goes it has been delayed until now.

We had a great time at the Halloween Party. It was held at Circle R Ranch and they had lots of fun activities planned for us...Bounce House, Petting Zoo, Family Games (such as balloon toss, egg toss etc), Yummy dinner of hot dogs, BBQ, and warm Chocolate Chip Cookies, and of course a Costume Contest.

Andrew loved the bounce house and the petting zoo. One of the goats didn't take to Cory so well and butted him to show him who was the boss. The guy also said that goats don't like cameras very much and that could have aggravated him as well (gee pal thanks for the warning)...so I took over the camera from there. Andrew & Cory participated in the balloon & egg toss - and I have to say that Andrew was amazing! They had so much fun together and Andrew really impressed everyone with his catching skills! We finally took a dinner break and then on to the Costume Contest. We didn't win any "official prizes" this year...however I still think the boys had the cutest costumes ever....check out the pics for yourself!

Feeling Old...

The boys and I were out shopping for Cory's birthday yesterday when I had an official "I feel REALLY old" moment! I was actually receiving some of the best help & customer service I have had in a long time. It was actually fun shopping again because I had some assistance in our purchases. It was when we were checking out when "it" happened. I was enrolling in a free rewards program with this store and I was asked for my birthday...no problem I thought (here's the rest of the conversation)

HELPER: Can I get your birthday?
HAILEY: Sure, it's 11/12
HELPER: ...and the year?
HAILEY: 1976
(PAUSE)
HELPER: Oh my - that's SOOO cool...you are almost exactly 10 years older than I am!
HAILEY: (Gulp...this is when my head starts spinning...and think...am I really this old now?!"
HELPER: But you don't look it...that's a compliment
HAILEY: Oh Thanks...

Don't Worry...I was really nice to him...he provided me with so much help I didn't care what he said to me (at least at the time). I did enjoy the fact that he had to tell me that not looking like I am almost 3-2 is a compliment (sigh). Oh well, I should be thrilled...he could have said so many other things in that moment! (ha)
