Feeling Old...

The boys and I were out shopping for Cory's birthday yesterday when I had an official "I feel REALLY old" moment! I was actually receiving some of the best help & customer service I have had in a long time. It was actually fun shopping again because I had some assistance in our purchases. It was when we were checking out when "it" happened. I was enrolling in a free rewards program with this store and I was asked for my birthday...no problem I thought (here's the rest of the conversation)

HELPER: Can I get your birthday?
HAILEY: Sure, it's 11/12
HELPER: ...and the year?
HAILEY: 1976
(PAUSE)
HELPER: Oh my - that's SOOO cool...you are almost exactly 10 years older than I am!
HAILEY: (Gulp...this is when my head starts spinning...and think...am I really this old now?!"
HELPER: But you don't look it...that's a compliment
HAILEY: Oh Thanks...

Don't Worry...I was really nice to him...he provided me with so much help I didn't care what he said to me (at least at the time). I did enjoy the fact that he had to tell me that not looking like I am almost 3-2 is a compliment (sigh). Oh well, I should be thrilled...he could have said so many other things in that moment! (ha)

Until next time...

A Little Halloween Candy Fun...

I found this article on-line this morning and had to share it with all of you...

We've all got our favorites when it comes to Halloween candy. Snickers, Butterfinger, M&Ms. To paraphrase Homer Simpson, "Mmmmmmm, candy."

But when you paw through that stash of Halloween candy and pull out your favorites, did you know that your choice of treat screams volumes about your personality? Well, we didn't either, until we had too much pre-Halloween candy and invented the theory.

So say hello to our sugar-induced candyscope, and don't overindulge in the coming days.

M&Ms: If you go for double Ms, you tend to separate your socks by color and have abnormally clean hands.

Snickers: Sign of indecisiveness. Do you want chocolate? Do you want nuts? You don't know. Or do you?

Candy Corn: Frustrated farmer. You are a sweet soul who loves to grow sweet peas and make maple syrup.

Nestle's Crunch: You have a well-rounded personality but can be a little snappy.

Kit-Kat bars: You love to build sand castles on the beach, grow herbs and claw up the couch.

Jolly Ranchers: You have a daring side and love adventure. You're also fond of parrots and eye patches.

Butterfinger: You're kind and considerate, but we wouldn't trust you to carry the family china.

Reese's Peanut Butter Cups: You have hidden talents and are a deep thinker. You like to do things in pairs.

Gummy bears: Sweet, cuddly and loving, but people often find you sticking to the ceiling, which makes you an inappropriate guest for parties that include a pinata.

Sour Patch: You're bitter and abrasive and good at making people cry.

Hershey: You are loved by most people and live a simple, plain and unassuming life.

Junior Mints: You have a refreshing and zippy personality, but you suffer from an inferiority complex.

Video: A Very Happy Landon in His Exersaucer

This is the first video I've posted on the Blog. For those family & friends with Flickr access you have seen many others, but I wanted to get my feet wet and learn how to do it here as well. Here's one of the latest videos of Landon. He is having such a wonderful time in his exersaucer. His smile makes my heart melt! Note: Yes - these are silent videos...our camera does not record with sound, but this is better than nothing. :)

Where does the time go?! I think I will be seeking an answer to this question for the rest of my life!

It's been a while since my last post...but we've been having LOTS of fun down here! We have visited the Pumpkin Patch, gone to dinners at friends' houses, baked Halloween cookies, gone for a picnic lunch in the park (catered by McDonalds)...and much more!

The boys have been keeping me in stitches. Landon is a ball of smiles and laughter and very proud of his new teeth! He is a roly poly and rolls all over the living room...it's guaranteed that you will not be able to guess where he's going to end up after putting him down on the floor! His smile is contagious and so is his belly laugh! I hope we get the camcorder soon so I can capture it to have forever!

Andrew is perfecting his singing skills. He is working on singing the lyrics to Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Little Einsteins, & Handy Manny. He is getting quite good & I am one proud Mama! He is very curious and asks question after question...which keeps me & Cory on our toes. Last night we were laughing so hard because when we got home from our neighbors house, Andrew found my black boots (tall ones w/ heels) and decided to put them on. He walked around the house quite well actually, and was singing the Handy Manny song with his new HM Tools/Toolbox. Of course I tried to get as many pictures as I could while trying not to die rolling on the floor in laughter. My cheeks hurt after this little episode!

The invitations went out for Andrew's first "real" birthday party last week. It's so exciting! He's been talking about having his birthday party since February - so I hope I can make this a special one for him to remember. Of course, since his party is the Saturday before...we will be having our family celebration the day of...and this year's cake might kill me. (You'll have to stay tuned to find out what I'm planning).

We have Cory's work Halloween party on Sunday - so we can't wait for that. Andrew is really digging Halloween this year which is so much fun to be a part of. I will post pics from that next week...

Well, that's all for now...until next time!

A Little Teaser...

We got Landon's 6 Month pictures taken on Sunday...and they turned out to be GREAT! Seriously, Heather took 129 pictures that day...although we decided to get some updated pics of the whole family so that accounted for some of them. It was a gut wrenching decision on which ones to choose, but I finally made my picks and here are a few of them for you to peek at...the rest will be posted on Flickr.

I will say these are the first ones that Landon is truly sitting up in...and he did a great job! You can also see his 1st 2 teeth in a couple!

Have I mentioned how much I adore my family? My heart feels like it's going to explode each and every time I think about them. I am so blessed!

Slowly But Surely...

Okay - I'm officially making progress on updating some pics on Flickr - Woo Hoo! Although I have to admit that I'm further behind than I remember! The important thing is that I'm working on it and I should be caught up sometime in the next century...

Updating...My Next Project

Okay - so here's the deal. I am behind on updating...especially Flickr! I have tried to keep up with it, but I seem to take "too many pictures" and therefore want to post "too many pictures" and then try and tell a little story about each picture...it's a viscious cycle! Not to mention, with our crazy September...things got bumped even futher back. So, I've decided to post my pictures with no captions or titles (for now)...that will speed things up to where friends & family will actually get to see what we're up to NOW!

Once I get caught up - I will go back to the way I prefer to do things...after all this is one of the things I like to do very much...it's like a window for you all to peek in and see what we're up to...

Start back peeking tomorrow...
